Teh Event - Lets get this show on the road. I gotta suit up.

Alarm clock wakes me up at 6:25 in the morning. I've got some time to drive 40 km to the event. Feeling is great, driving my bumer, getting closer but still cutting on time. 7:40 I was at registration, people where already doing some warmup swim, I still needed to put away my gear. What I saw was a brand new thing, apparently everybody had something called triathlon belt.

Ok, I got some pins for my number. Sun was up, wind started to get winding up a bit. There were some instructions how to make my swimming laps. namely 2 laps. I had my number on my cheeks and go myself to my wetsuit, got my swimming hat on, tight fit and got my swimming glasses. Still no adrenaline.

Start, people were running into the lake Tanmemäe, I also with them, and finally, my feet didn't reach to the ground anymore. I was in the competition, my longest swimming distance ever. After 300 meters my swimming hat gave up and my hair got loose. Hair everywhere, it was disaster, no way to contain it.

Kept going, 500 meters in and my goggles went blurry, got to get rid of them also. Ok, only wetsuit now holds, which is nice, so happy to have heard, that you have managed one of fourth in the distance, kept going, there it was, looked around and somehow I was on the last position, no worries, I had time but the exhaustment came on me. Should have had a snack in the morning but in the rush I didn't really have good opportunity for that.

As the swim went longer than I expected I get thinking how awesome friends do I have. 4 of my friends decided 2 am on Saturday that at 4 am they will come and see how I will do. I love my friends. That was the sweetest things and of course my lovely girlfriend stood by me.

1500 meters more less by and I heard a sound, Sound of something terrible, some guys had swam already managed to have swim 3500 meters. Mind blown, No worries, they are pro swimmers. I've got time.

Managed to cover first round, managed to cover 1900 meters. My longest swim ever, body told me, no more, I told to the body, shut up you, it is not up to you, it is up to all of me. There is no person who forfeits to some voice in my head. Turning it off. Good bye. I did it with 70 minutes. Good. I was on schedule. Kept going.

Went forward, around 2400 meters away i got first cramps on my legs. What is going on, cramp, go away, you will not take me, go away. Managed to loose some minutes to get rid of them and got already 3000 meters. What am I doing, expanding my longest swim and still going. No sign of additional cramps, but how did they came? I have had lots of magnesium and stuff. Really got me puzzled for a time, but no time to think, time to action. Going, I am going, but pace was down. Turns out my swimming skills got really bad once my hair started to bug me everywhere. At least the lake water was almost drinkable, most likely had a liter or so. I really don't want to know how much useful bacteria I had.

I see it, the finish, 200 meters to go, easy I think, easy, I can do it, I have around 7 minutes to spare but my body thought something else.....

At the moment all of my body hurts, I really can't walk or even lift my arms, At least I can sit down. My wetsuit got me nasty burn marks on my neck and back of my knees. It really hurts, now I know why some guys had some lotion with them and they put it under theirs.

So 200 meters to go and then it hit me. Double cramps on both of my calfs. They were like bricks. Finish ahead, got time, in pain, in really serious pain. Thinking, my life means more now than finish, looking around, shore, 100 meters. God damn, I can do it, trying, but my body it not cooperating. Shore it is, and I am not dissapointed.

I got to the shore and I even couldn't sit down, so much pain. Why, cramps why, at least my muscles are awesome, never seen them so big, so much potential. Got almost rid of the cramps, went BACK. NOT GIVING UP. Swam 20 meters and the cramps got bigger and heavier. No way, body, why, no way, had to turn back to the shore and there it was, swimming end signal.

I am not mad, I am happy, I am happy that I did my longest swim ever. I am happy that I saw that I could do the swim part, I am happy that I didn't give up. I am happy that I saw my girlfriend who was so positive and my friends who supported me.

Walked the rest of 200 meters to finish, if you can call it a walk, I would have preferred to roll my self, 0 legs.

Ok, what happened and what I learnt:
  1. I can do it.
  2. It is easy
  3. I need to learn some swimming techniques
  4. I need to get full wetsuit, most likely cramps were due I my knees where in the cold water and blood vessels where shrieked.
  5. I need to lotion myself for burns
  6. I need to get bigger swimming hat to avoid it getting wild.
  7. I need to get my hair done so they will not attack my face
Around half hours later I could stand up and had small cramps coming from time to time, this is not how I can cycle. Even now when I am publishing this, my walk ability is close to zero and having still small cramps, funny.

Some pictures from my friends:

Here I did some training at 3 am on Friday. Easy.

Got my costume on. GO!

That is my go from my friends perpective:

And this is my legcamps. LOVELY!

Thank you for sticking my by for this event. I will REPEAT. (Live, Die, Repeat).

Most likely I will now look for some other events which would be good for practice. You don't know what is living when you haven't pushed yourself to the limit and faced some PAIN.

Cheers,

Taivo

3 days left - does my bike fit to my car's trunk?

Seems sketchy that if it would fit there. And I still need to find a way how to attach some phone to my bike. I need to track my heart rate.

Next update will come on Sunday, I am out now with meditation and locking my mindset into correct place.
Some reading about marathon setup:

Event starts in 6 days - got a bike which I can use for cycling

Weekend passed like a snap and didn't feel like swimming during it, actually I tried to figure out my eating schedule and what to consume during the event.
There are many theories that you shouldn't eat fast carbohydrates and you should be on a diet until the competition. Anyways, I guess that I will make Nutella and Krakow sausage sandwiches. Actually I got hungry now.

On the other aspect, I changed my bikes tires and still I messed up with inner tubes. Not so easy to change them. I went through many Youtube videos and still no good. Anyways on the bright side I got my brothers awesome bike. I just need to fit it somehow to my Bumer. Also some configuration of the bike is needed. Did a trip to office Today and it felt good, nothing bad to say.

My friend also managed to make a picture of it:

Friday 7 August 2015

9 Days left - How to swim

So I've got some nice links about swimming. How to last in the water. Perpetual Motion swimming. Legs needs rest and body needs also rest. So theoretical lessons are ongoing and maybe tomorrow I will master the skill of that swimming, seems easy and logical . I am gonna nail that.

Let's see what  I will pick up. So many days left...

etc.

Thursday 6 August 2015

10 Days Left - fixed my bike.

So I fixed my bike in order to have some kilometers over the weekend before competition.
Got new tires, installed them. It took some time, blew some inner tubes. Got CO2 pump.
I was lucky that I also removed the front tire. The inner-tube was covered with sand and somehow it was put there folded. Seems like person who installed it, didn't know what he was doing. I was lucky that it didn't blow.

Wednesday 5 August 2015

11 days left

Most probably I need to do some more swimming, the rest of the areas seems simple. Hardest part of the swimming is to get the swimming hat on. Easy way do to it would be in Aura Keskus, let's see if I can wake up earlier in the morning, also I need to go shopping for new cycle tires.

Tuesday 4 August 2015

12 Days Left - had a very nice vacation with swimming

So I had two weeks of vacation, where I did some swimming.
At least I swam once in Kihnu Island.
At least I swam twice in Saaremaa
At least I swam several times in Hiiumaa, with most epic waves, like one meter+ waves.
At least I swam once in Peraküla beach.

So I can count at least 5-10 swims, which I see is a lot, The total most likely is 2-3 kilometers or so. Biggest swimming was at Hiiumaa SufrParadise with big waves almost an hour worth. It should be around 1,5 kilometers, but if you add the coefficient that waves were epic, that should multiply the effort at least twice, taking into account that in the competition I will swim only on the still lake.

I see that swimming will be the most complicated part, but I just should take time and try to fit it into 1:20, then I will have an hour to spare before disqualification. Most hardest part is to stay with my pace. Although I could take some tempo down and wait for others to catch me up, but will see, maybe I will let them pass and watch big men go silly and take them over with final running.

Tuesday 14 July 2015

Day 43 - Cycled at least almost 1 km of 180 - happy day

So I finally got an exciting opportunity. Took my bike for a ride. I am actually considering to name my bike, maybe it brings some good luck. I dressed up, got my helmet, got my bike, got outside and first time I tried on the cleats. Strange feeling, but once I started going it felt interesting, my leg worked differently than without cleats. I pulled with one leg and pushed with another one. Constantly wondering when I am going to fall. I've heard that it happens when I forget that you're having your shoes locked in place.

So I drove almost 1 kilometer and then it happened. My luck, rear tire blew with a bang. Now I think that I need whole new tire with inner tubing. Most likely it was the same problem for the first time. But the trip was impressive. I only have to cycle 180 more that today. Not very hard, I might say.

Somehow my Polar H7 heart rate monitor didn't want to cooperate with my girlfriends phone, seems like Sports-Tracker issue, which is a shame. http://www.sports-tracker.com/blog/2014/07/16/the-biggest-android-update-of-the-summer-is-out/. I don't want to use Endomondo, which apparently supports it. https://support.endomondo.com/hc/en-us/articles/203472747-Setup-guide-for-Polar-Wahoo-Zephyr-and-Garmin-heart-rate-monitors#Polar.
Sports-Tracker people. Fix my issue with H7!!!

Anyways some footage of my awesome bike (which is still nameless).

At least max speed is more than I expected and I really didn't try. The wind was pretty heavy, when I reached towards to 88mph.

Wednesday 8 July 2015

Day 37 - bit rainy weather

So, my bike is waiting for me, I am eager to destroy the road, achieve 88 mph and go back or forward. Imagine, man, with a bike is coming with a speed 88 mph and once the limit is hit, only fire stripe is left behind. I just need some extra fuel for my flux capacitor. Most likely I need dynamo which could power this.

Anyways the weather has been very moody and i felt rather to train myself inside my brain, meditate myself into finishing the small competition.

Based on weather forecast in yr.no seems like that today will be a nice day to make small ride:

Let's wait and see. Hopefully I still can use my phone to track the speed and other parameters or maybe to use my old N9.

Tuesday 7 July 2015

Day 33-36 - got a bike

So got a lots of stuff for my bike buying trip, and went to Tallinn and from there to Jüri. Weather was hot. When I got my bike, I started travelling around the area and when I was around 25-30 kilometers my rear tire broke. This is my bike, will make some better pictures later. I've upgraded it a bit already.

At that point of time when my rear tire gave up on me, my left palm started making some trouble. Need to look into aero handles. So I got off from the bike and started walking back to Tallinn to take a bus or train to Tartu. I was in luck, some guy gave me a lift. It was sweet.

Anyways I got home and made some bike modifications. For example, replaced rear tire. Attached new pedals, attached cleats on my shoes, attached water bottle holder, water bottle, pump.

Also my current phone doesn't like Sports-Tracker, actually Sports-Tracker needs Google Play Services and my Android doesn't want to download it, it says that it already has application with that ID. It is a bummer since I really would love to track my trainings, Measure heart rate with bluetooth heart rate monitor and during the training also to measure my blood pressure with my new monitor.
Hopefully the weather sticks and I will have joyful next 2 weeks with my bike before going on swimming training.

Friday 3 July 2015

Day 32 - got a ticket to train

Finally made up my mind, will go on Train on Saturday morning and hopefully will get my bike by 10 am. The real questions is what should I pack?

  • 2-3-4-5 liters of water? Vytautas obviously
  • White bread with chocolate cream?
  • Some nasty energy bars?
  • Some powder to my nice sweet water which would provide me extra minerals?
  • Backpack where to put my items.
  • Battery bank for my phone.
  • Tyre replacement kit.
  • Tyre pump.
Also I need to find pedals for my shoes. Seems that the shopping list is written down.

The second question is what software to use for my trip tracking. People are suggesting me Endomondo  but I, myself, am Sports-tracker user. Lot's of history there already. Investigation needs to be made. Of-course, today, I need to go to bed early to get on the train in the morning.

Thursday 2 July 2015

Day 31 - bike ride contemplations

Interesting day. My leg has became walk-able again, small pain is left but getting better. Still no running for some time, I want to get it fully healed. Applying some balsams on top of it, at least it doesn't hurt anymore all the time, which is nice, most likely cycling is doable already. Cannot wait for my vintage bike. Only need to find how to get to Jüri. Probably cannot take any express bus there. Will make some phone calls to bus companies in the morning to find out what is the best course of action.  I need a bike.

There is also the topic of me getting back to Tartu from Jüri, either to find a train stop, travel some distance with that wagon and then trip around 100 kilometers back or should I go full crazy and go the whole distance? The psychiatrist officially pronounced my as sane person. Which is nice.

The other topic is the matter of gear which I need to take with me when purchasing one. I have no clue about bikes and I haven't driven one for ages, like 10+ years. I definitely need special pedals. Lots of water, some energy bars, battery bank, as my phone screen is still busted and new one isn't yet arrived. Replacement phone holds barely to the end of the day without charging and doing nothing more than few phone calls, but the screen is responsive although it is scattered and half of it is just black. Route needs to be tracked.

Unfortunately I  still cannot find my bluetooth heart rate monitor, most likely need to search new one, but to be truly honest, I haven't looked much either. Also will take my blood pressure belt with me on that journey. Will get some fun stats.

Also was exited to get an appointment with a hematologist but the lines are huge, it will happen in September, too bad, cannot get insight of my iron awesomeness.

Tuesday 30 June 2015

Day 30 - tried to get rid of my awesome blood...nobody wanted :( too much iron

There was a blood donation day at work. I was waiting for that event, it has been long enough from my in process tattoo and I was thrilled. Filled in the form, waited in the line, was constantly looking at time, how it ticked, minute by minute, second by second, I was calculating if I will catch a bus to the Police station it was tight fit. Finally it was my turn.

They poked my finger, got that delicious red blood running to the hemoglobin measurement machine and there it was, the result. It was high, like really high, around 190 (maximum is 180). Turns out that every June/July my hemoglobin is high, but this time it was really hitting the top of charts, which was strange as 2 something weeks ago it was perfect at doctors appointment. What a let down. Jaak Mae has got the same problem. Well it was a let down. At least I got on my bus and had chance to run my business at the police station. Also got random conversation partner on the way there.

Conversation was chit chat and she brought the immigrants topic up. As always Estonian Media has done like a very big deal of immigrants who wants to come to Europe, like why, what is the big deal. If I would live outside the Europe I could find so much nicer places, like Cuba or Dominicans where to get me if I needed refuge. Media, why do you even push that kind of intolerant ideas to peoples mind? It is true. Today war can be held only by media and small group of activists. Either it is topic of relocating 100 people or some invasion, same kind of thing. World has lost it's mind!

During the day I got a call from Verekeskus and they are thrilled to send me some special doctor to investigate my amount of awesome iron in my blood. I guess that I will pick that invitation up and blow their minds.

Seems like a lot of walking to do tomorrow because all of it.

Days - Vacation and stuff ... day 29

I did nothing just got very relaxing vacation and practically internet free, also my blue-tooth heart rate monitor decided to go missing on me. What a bust. Phone broken, heart rate monitor missing what else. Oh yes, made with one of my friends additional bet, do I finish at all. Fish is putting out some bate.
So over that time I Just healed my leg and gave some love to my car. I can show some tricks how to treat your бумер if you like to.

My leg is still a bust, but decided to get myself some old-timer road bike. Most likely it will be a weekend trip to Tallinn, the capital of road constructions and village like city. It is just metro-village.
I haven't quite decided yet. To cycle back to Tartu or take the train. Would be new old crappy bike afterwards and the initial setup could do some damage. Let's see how it turns out, the little trip.
Just in case, if I would do the thing what I would like to do then which road to take? Tallinn - Tartu is a bit killer maniac road, psychos drive there and I would not feel safe without my boomer. And what to pack to back-bag?
How long it would take? I presume that around 6 hours with my talent, but what if the bike doesn't support my amazing skills? Can somebody pick up me with my ride then? Would not like to hike back.
So many puzzles to solve, so little time, who knows which crazy will come over me.

Looked at the forecast, awkward ->

Friday 19 June 2015

Days 17, 18

Day 17

What a bust, was learning for an exam all evening and half morning basically was thinking about my weekend where I run and cycle. Everything was lovely until the...

Day 18...

...came. As usual, a football match, I was a bit better than I've been, at least that is what i like to think, everything worked smoothly but after the match I could feel some pain. It was very difficult to walk, anyways, made Vytautas shower and started limping towards to the cinema to watch B category movie called Jurassic World but in the last minute decided to get home and heal my heel.
I don't know if this will bust my weekend or not, but I have to Swim and Cycle.

Hopefully when I apply some stuff on the painful area, and lets see what happens.
Keep rock and rolling.

Wednesday 17 June 2015

Day 16 - Visited the doctor

Actually he was professor doctor or something. He measured my heart under performance and subscribed some pills for me. Like Wellman Sport and Panangin. Apparently my blood pressure under load is a bit high and he would love to see it to get a bit lover. To be honest, I am very glad that I went there, got to know a lot about my heart and how to keep it ticking longer and longer. Also I should monitor my blood pressure and make a small map how it is acting. But on the other hand the positive side was that he told me, I will lose the triathlon(most likely cannot make it to the finish first) At least I didn't tell him that I want to reach 8-9 hours. Only 12 hours.

The good point was that I was approved by doctors to run the triathlon. My main goal is still to stay cool and take everything with reason and keep myself intact.

Or maybe small finish run...

Tuesday 16 June 2015

Day 15 - I should most likely do some training

It has been awfully busy times. We went to Tactical Shooting Center and blasted some money against the wall and after that we had team event. Anyways it is irrelevant to that my phone is bust, but at least I've got Sports Tracker running on another phone where I basically have lack of screen. But not a stopper.

Soon I will find out how I can stand the performance test. Most likely I need to cycle a bit with heart rate monitor and then I should have perfect training interval for my heart. Seems like that until Thursday I need to study hard for my hunting re-exam. Just 60 questions and done. Not hard, but still requires a lot of work.

Monday 15 June 2015

Day 12 -14 - Had to do some business

It was very tight weekend with gathering all required this which are needed for my car and for fixing my car. Also it was a very good rest from the training, I loved it.

Nothing much to say, tomorrow I will have endurance test and this will give some insight. On the good side my phone decided to hit the floor and kill half of her's screen. New screen will come withing 2 weeks or even more. Disaster.
At least some wise words about it:

Friday 12 June 2015

Day 11 - Had recovery run

Had some recovery run Today and came to the conclusion. If you eat 30 minutes before run then you are going to have a bad time. Actually I ran only 5 kilometers and had 1,5h football mach. Total training was 2 hours and impressive 1500 kcal was wasted on that. It all felt pretty awesome.

Also I got my order from Sports Direct and all the products fit, only I ordered normal cycling pedals, hopefully the bikes which I will see soon will have those special pedals where I can just clip my shoes on.

I cannot wait until I can try my wetsuit in the water, thrilling. Since I want to monitor the distance and stuff while I am swimming, then I guess that I need to find waterproof bag for my phone.

Seems that my leg hair is long enough, will try to wax them over weekend, how painful can it be. At least will have silky smooth feeling maybe longer.
My initial training schedule is a bit bust but it is better to train how your body feels it than kill yourself. No point to over train, the general idea is to find out what do I need to do to survive this epic conquest where I am on. I've read that people need to train at least a year or more for this kind of event, but still. How hard can it be? I bet that it will be walk in the park and after that I will be dead for 8 hours and will enter to the total recovery mode.
Not bad for this month:

Thursday 11 June 2015

Day 10 - exhaustion

Interesting thing. 2 days after small run and 1 day after football competition overall exhaustion came on me. My upper body ached and my knees were not so strong.

Feels like I was lacking of energy in general. This totally messed up my initial training plan but I am not that worried. Yesterday I got home, did quick dinner and basically fall a sleep and slept a lot. I have never slept for so long for a long time, but in the morning I got up I was perfect.

Did my body processed some fat and found energy from there? What will be my energy plan? Need to do some research.
6 Nutrition Rules for Endurance Athletes.
Haa. Seems like I need to start breakfast. 800-1000 kcal a day. Oeh, I need to wake up earlier and start fixing myself some energy.  Also need to cut down on coffee and most likely do a bit more fruits.

Honestly, if I would eat more bananas as I do right now, then the monkyness will come on me.

Also original version:

Wednesday 10 June 2015

Day 9 - small recovery

Interesting fact, that my legs where OK in the morning, but my upper body did some aching. I stand strong with the fact that i need to start trying out sports energy foods. Also most likely for several + hours I need to find solids also. Don't want to end up like those princesses:

On the other side since I wanted to go swimming but decided to stay healthy for evenings football competition then I decided to skip swimming to today and bike few days in the future. Since I still don't have a bike or the gear for it. Hopefully I find it soon.

Gear should arrive today at least it got to Tallinn yesterday. It has been in Tallinn already longer than normal. Would have expected to have a bit faster delivery from DHL but most likely Sports Direct is using cheapest service from them.

Not cute experience, do you have any other sites where to use it?

So due I skipped swimming then I replaced it football competition where we won 4-2. At least a bit more than 1000 kcal was spent. I am happy with that and got some general movement.

And for Rita, she needs some immagination to find that cat on the running rout via Emajõue to Atlantis.

Tuesday 9 June 2015

Day 8 - first a bit warmup running day - could have made half marathon if didn't have a urge to take a ....

My first warmup running day. I ran total 18,66 km in 2:04:47, which makes average speed of 9 km/h, not bad for warmup. The first 5 kilometers was piece of cake, actually i was browsing around to find some app to listen to music since Youtube doesn't allow back ground music listening on Android . So I tried Spotify but I couldn't log in there, I found a better solution - 8tracks. This one worked smoothly
Also tried out Sports-Tracker pro version, the audio feedback kept me motivated and on course.
Around 8 kilometers there was a beautiful rainbow:

I ran one circle around the Anne kanal and decided to visit Ihaste.

After I started 15 kilometers I felt that I am out of energy. I need to find some sports stuff to eat. Kind of new to it so I guess that degustation of those needs to be taken into my agenda also 1,5L of Vytautas is not enough.
I wanted to complete full half running marathon but suddenly there was a real urge to take a dump. I cannot imagine how to avoid this next time. Since this urge came on to me then I had to finish and leave those additional 2,5 km for next time.
Next target is to run full half marathon with speed 10km/h. Easy enough. At least it seems from my Today's running session. Hell, the 42,2 kilometers is like half more. Not worried at all.

Hopefully tomorrow I can also walk, my flatfoots are making some pain, but it is for people who care about pain.

Also the route:
http://www.sports-tracker.com/workout/taivorokib/5575dbcee4b05dcecce58787

And for Rita who asked if I could run a cat. Then there it is:

Monday 8 June 2015

Day 5,6,7 - Weekend rest

Finally by not doing any exercise over the weekend I can feel that my leg is so much better. Hopefully it is ready for Today's first official training. Too bad that I cannot find my heart rate monitor anywhere. Would love to track my heart while running.

Morning weather was good, hopefully it lasts also the hardest thing is to find nice running route.

I just found out the saddest thing. Forgot my magnesium at home, most likely need to visit the drug store. Also I hope my gear arrives today. Seems a good day to receive it.

If you have any good running route suggestions in Tartu, please let me know.

Friday 5 June 2015

Day 4 - Tried out if my leg was healed...with a football training

So I applied Voltaren for my leg for few days and several times, leg felt OK. Got home from work and started running. It was not an easy run to the football training but somehow I managed to do it and it felt quite good.

Match itself proved that leg needs some more healing. Had some issues with that, only temporary ones. It wore off like in 5 minutes, all those issues which cam. That was nice.

After I ran back home I applied FIT sportsbalsem and it smells awful, my leg started burning up, cooling down and continuously over an hour. Now it feels perfect, I want to run some more.

In total I burnt 2051 kcal over 2,5h. I felt exhausted. But it was already 2,5h. It is like I need do do 5 times this much in the event. Sounds like piece of cake.
Sportstracker from the football:

http://www.sports-tracker.com/workout/taivorokib/55709a27e4b05dcecca0fc02

I still cannot believe that only 4 kilometers here, but at least I ran additionally 5 kilometers. To the training and back. The pace of those 5 kilometers in cumulative was 9km/h. The cooling down run brought it a bit down. Leg hurt was a bit too much. Next time I will be wiser!

Thursday 4 June 2015

Day 3 - healing my leg and making initial training schedule

Since my leg is acting like a stupid man and wants to fold before my training will start then I decided to buy some drugs from the pharmacist. Actually some gels to put on for injuries, before training and after training and also some magnesium pills.

Turns out that Voltaren works quite good.

Also shaved my legs. Dude I feel like a lady now.

Initial training schedule is available here. x-means no training and empty lines will be filled with results. After I get baseline in place then I know how to move forward and where to improve.

My ordered gear should also arrive at that time. Now my main challenge is to find a bike where to start my awesome trip. Will I be my own Nemesis?

Wednesday 3 June 2015

Day 2 - Made General Training - Pulled My LEG

So, I just did some general training by the form of Football competition and I managed to be on the green for a minute then I pulled my leg. Rectus femoris to be exact. I am no doctor but this is the muscle what is killing me. Very hard to walk, to run, even to swim, but still. Going out for small jogging tonight for training the muscle and to get over the pain.

On the good side, we nailed the game 7-2.

My leg is not the little b*tch who gives up like that.

At least I've ordered my gear. Total is not cheap (92,94 € + I still need swimming cap and goggles for swimming and cycling), still a lot cheaper than in Estonian shops.

Today's main target is to finalize my training plan. It will be though but will try to do it right after I had my 5 km run to heal my rectus femoris and to do some research about it.

Weight is still X+-0 kg.

Also yesterday I saw a movie called San Andreas. Pretty much total Hollywood stuff. Only effects where awesome.

Day 1 - Research

I've done some calculations. In order to finish before 12 hours I am thinking something like this:

AreaInitial time, hAverage speed, km/hDistance, km
Swimming1:202,73,8
Cycling6:0030180
Running4:309,3442,2

I am setting up now my training results into Google Spreadsheets which I will share in my upcoming posts.

Weigh is still X+0 kg.

The amazing topic is that the gear is really expensive. Those are some items which I need to get:

  • Swimming goggles
  • Swimming cap
  • Swimming suit / triathlon suit. Still open topic here
  • Cycling helmet
  • Cycling shoes
  • Cycling  cloves
  • Cycling cleats
  • Cycling pants / triathlon suit. Still open topic here also.
Also it turns out that I need to start shaving my legs, wins a minute per 40 kilometers. Worth it totally. I could win up to 5 minutes with that.
But at least I don't have to shave my beard:

Investigations and getting the gear will continue, but now, off to make my first swimming laps over ages.

Cheers and hopefully I don't have to find a tombstone after all this is over.

So I just made a bet...

I just made most likely most silliest bet in the world - complete Ironman triathlon less than 12 hours. With 0 training and 2 months to go.

Those who don't know the Ironman Triathlon then  outtake from Wikipedia
An Ironman Triathlon is one of a series of long-distance triathlon races organized by the World Triathlon Corporation (WTC) consisting of a 2.4-mile (3.86 km) swim, a 112-mile (180.25 km) bicycle rideand a marathon 26.2-mile (42.2 km) run, raced in that order and without a break. It is widely considered one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.[1][2][3]
Most Ironman events have a strict time limit of 17 hours to complete the race. The race typically starts at 7:00 a.m.; the mandatory swim cut off for the 2.4-mile (3.9 km) swim is 9:20 a.m. (2 hours 20 minutes), the mandatory bike cut off time is 5:30 p.m. (8 hours 10 minutes), and the mandatory marathon cut off is midnight (6 hours 30 minutes). Any participant who manages to complete the triathlon within these timings becomes an ironman.

Not really sure where to start but I guess that I need to make a schedule, find a bike, find swimming gear, bike gear, running gear. What the hell was I thinking?

Anyways my weight at the moment is X+0 kg and I will update that number accordingly to my training results.

And i just bought the ticket to here-> http://triathlonestonia.ee/juhend/
